Aero Club, Inc.The First Flight Party is an annual Condor event celebrating the anniversary of the Wright brothers' first powered flight as well as the holiday season.
After some initial holiday cheer and hangar flying, a brief program commences where we thank the men and women of the armed services for the freedom we enjoy, and recognize the veterans in the room by playing the "Armed Forces Medley". Most importantly, we pause for a moment of silence, during the playing of "Taps", while we pay our respects to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice defending our country.
After the conclusion of the ceremony, "dinner is served", followed by music, dancing, and door prizes. The celebration is open to all Condor members, EAA Chapter 857 members, airport tenants, and friends of the local aviation community. For the past several years, our event has been held at the Zelienople American Legion Post #474, and this year, we had over 50 people in attendance.
