Condor members seeking flight instruction may utilize one of the Club-approved Certified Flight Instructors (CFIs) for proficiency training or to pursue a new pilot certificate or rating. Flight instruction in Club aircraft must be performed only by a Club-approved CFI, and only with Club members. These CFIs are not employed by the Condor Aero Club, nor are they contracted by the Club in any way. They are simply independent flight instructors who are also Club members. As such, each CFI sets his/her own hourly rate and student/instructor policies. While cash is king, some accept more modern methods of payment such as Venmo or Zelle.
These instructors come from a wide variety of backgrounds including the airlines, corporate/charter, gliders, and maintenance technicians. Several have been instructing for decades. Some fly early in the mornings, others prefer evenings. With varied backgrounds and availability, there should be an instructor available to meet your training goals.
Not every instructor is accepting new full-time students. However, most are more than willing to work with you for more short-term goals like aircraft checkouts, WINGS proficiency flights, or flight reviews and instrument proficiency checks. If you’re having difficulty in a certain area, our flight instructors can work with you to create a training program to help you become a better pilot.
If you need assistance finding the right instructor for your needs, please contact the Chief Flight Instructor.
